Hand Embroidery

Kantha fabric has layers of rich history dating back to Pre-vedic times that is prior to 1500 BC. Originally, it was used as an embroidery. However, kantha was introduced in a unique way in Bengal, where women applied running stitches over used clothes or rags to layer them together. In birbhum district near shantiniketan its a tradition in villages.
